WRONG PHILOSOPHY (Episode 4): “FAST GUYS NEVER LOSE”

I remember seeing a boy back then in Primary School picking something that wasn’t his. But before I could even say a word, he raised his shoulder and said bragging, “Fast guys never lose.” I was dumbfounded and just watched him walk away. It sounded strange: new, smart, but wrong to my ears...

Up to now, I see people living in the fallacy of this philosophy, as it sounds sharp and street-smart. But truth be told, it’s a dangerous and misleading mindset. Yes, in today’s world, people often praise those who are sharp, quick to act, and always a step ahead. But what many don’t say is, not all fast ways are the right ways.

Some people take “fast” to mean cutting corners, cheating, stealing, or lying their way to success. They deceive others, use people, fake it till they make it, and then brag like they are wise. They believe as long as they get what they want, it doesn’t matter how they got it. But this is not success, it’s destruction wearing a mask.

Proverbs 13:11 says, “Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.” This tells us clearly that honest work may be slow, but it’s the sure way.

Even in the streets, we hear, “The fast lane leads to a quick end.” Let’s be real; not every shortcut is a blessing. Some shortcuts lead to jail, shame, or even untimely death. Ask those who got caught in fraud, theft, or scam. Were they not once seen as “fast guys”? But where are they now?

True success is not about speed; it’s about direction, discipline, and doing the right thing, even when it takes time. So yes, fast guys may look like they don’t lose, but what does it profit a man to gain the world and lose his soul? (Mark 8:36)

POWER THOUGHT:
“Fast guys never lose” sounds cool, but when you’re fast in the wrong direction, you only reach failure faster. Patience, wisdom, and honesty may be slower, but they lead to peace, respect & lasting success.
