A HEART LIKE CHRIST HEART

By: Alfred Israel

A heart like Christ’s heart is what every Christian should pray for. Christ was always compassionate towards sinners and never condemned them. The story of the woman caught in adultery exemplifies this; while her accusers saw her as a sinner worthy of death, Christ perceived something good in her and did not judge her.

It is the devil, not Christ, that fosters the thought that others are not spiritual. Christians should strive to see people as potential candidates for heaven, even those struggling with addiction. A heart that does not discriminate but sees every Christian as a brother or sister is vital for ministers of the gospel.

Preaching is an act of showing compassion like Christ. If one has not preached in years despite occupying a prominent role in the Church, the problem may be lack of compassion for souls. Such a person should pray for revival from the Lord to rekindle their evangelistic fire and zeal.

Christ never prioritized his own comfort over preaching the message of salvation. He once preached to the Samaritan woman while hungry and tired despite the norm at the time to avoid such people. Christ’s salvation of the Samaritan woman brought salvation to Samaria, demonstrating his heart for sinners.

Christ came to save sinners, not to judge them. He seeks to make all men candidates for heaven. We should, therefore, rise and preach the message of the crucified Lord while praying for a heart like Christ’s. We should not utter the words “there is nothing I can do” to the hearing of anyone.

Arise and preach!
